Boston Breakers’ Kristine Lilly Scored 100th Career Goal on the National Level
 
October 11, 2004 - The WUSA would like to congratulate Kristine Lilly on her 100th goal of her career!!!

During the U.S. Women’s National Team Olympic Victory Tour, Kristine Lilly accomplished what only four other women in the world have accomplished, to score 100 goals for their country. On October 3, 2004 in Portland, Oregon, Lilly struck the historic century mark in an International Friendly match against New Zealand in the 66th minute, capping off the final score of a 5-0 victory in front of 16,554 enthusiastic fans at PGE Park. Lilly joins Mia Hamm (156 after this game), former teammate Michelle Akers (105) and two Italians, Elisabetta Vignotto (107) and current Italian National Team head coach Carolina Morace (104).

Kristine Lilly’s offensive presence could also be seen on the WUSA Boston Breakers from 2001-2003. Lilly had a total of 14 goals, 27 assists plus an additional goal and an assists from her participation in both the Minnesota and Los Angeles WUSA Festivals earlier this year.

Fellow teammates, Hamm, Foudy and Fawcett have publicly announced their retirement from international play following the Victory Tour, but Lilly, at the age of 33 continues on and fans can make sure to see many more goals to come.
